To the Audience of a Small Concert
There is an invisible curtain
Opening to you all, and I am behind it
Knowing the real music is in you
And your being here how precious your gift
Of listening, taking time out of busyness
Life’s forward motions
So let’s celebrate and slow down, drowse
As we quiet our spirits into the music
So glad you could be here
And without the least one of you
My heart would break.
